A true gem bang in the middle of Rome’s historic centre. We went twice in one weekend as we kept talking about it!
We saw this reviewed on Youtube by a local guy, then researched it a bit and it seems to me to achieved their aim of taking an out of centre Osteria grub to where you normally find overpriced / stereotypical offers.
My tip would be two go for a selection of half portion pastas so you can try most. The Cacio & Pepe is otherworldly 😮💨
Special mention for the staff & lady Alessandra at the till, they were all so genuinely pleasant & pros at what they do.
Ordered a full pasta carbonara which had the exact proportion of pasta as a half carbonara which my friend ordered. In addition, both dishes had raw noodles, they were extremely hard and waiters were very dismissive when asked about the proportion, not recommended.
Good Roman dishes.
Set in a lovely small street, it was worth a visit. Tiramisù highly recommended
In short you could say there are two kinds of restaurants - ones that make you feel welcome and ones that want you to order, eat, and leave. This place definitely falls in the second category. Not a single smile, not a single check how the food was, food served on cold plates, and extremely rushed service: as soon as my girlfriend swallowed the last bite of her entree, they served the main course. It was laughable. Like they were waiting with the plates around the corner.
We had this restaurant recommended to us by a Roman friend and were looking forward to a long evening of enjoying an authentic experience, but this was made impossible by the terrible service.
And looking through your replies on other negative reviews: it’s probably better to take them seriously and hold back on the snarky replies.
State of the art 🙌 Our favourite Italian restaurant in Rome! Congratulazioni!
On our first day in Rome this place was the perfect speed for dinner. Easy to grab a table for dinner at 8p and a menu full of familiar Italian food. The pizza is thin crust but not crackery, and the pasta is al dente and coated in yummy sauce.
Very easy with a little kid, ours loved the pizza and even ate the crust! If you’re looking for something casual that gives your brain a break and still delivers great food, I recommend Frezza.
Such a great italian food experience! Highly recommended
By far the worst ever service in the entire universe. All the waiters treated us like they paid for our food from their own pockets. Do not hesitate to avoid this place. You're welcome.
